Core Neutronics Engineer

Missions
Experienced engineers are desired in the following areas:
- Core monitoring systems
- Code development, maintenance, and support
- Core nodal simulators (NEMO, PRISM, ARTEMIS)
- Core monitoring systems (FIDMS, POWERTRAX, ARGOS, BEACON)
- Automation and user interface design
- General physics / neutronics competencies, including benchmarking expertise, in-core detector performance and measurement uncertainty, spent fuel criticality analysis, training, transient analysis, fluence calculations, component heating, etc.
- Neutronic core design and licensing analyses.
- Reload licensing documentation, including support for 10CFR50.59 evaluations
The Company is engaged in the development of new core design and analysis tools (ARTEMIS, APOLLO2-A, COBRA-FLX, GALILEO, LADON, etc.). As these programs enter their final stages of development, expertise is desired to support the implementation of these new tools in new methodologies (for UO2 and MOX) that fully utilize the new code capabilities. This is a global initiative, utilizing resources from Germany, France, and the US.

Job requirements

Qualifications
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
- Engineer IV: BS in Nuclear Engineering plus 5-7 years of reactor physics or fuel management engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related experience (Masters, 1-2 years, or PhD, 1-3 years).
- Principal: BS in Nuclear Engineering plus 7-10 years of reactor physics or fuel management engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related experience (Masters, 1-2 years, or PhD, 1-3 years).
- Advisory: BS in Nuclear Engineering plus 12 years of reactor physics or fuel management engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related experience (Masters, 1-2 years, or PhD, 1-3 years).
- Must possess good verbal and written skills.
- Possess a pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution.
- Ability and attitude to learn a variety of new procedures, processes, and tools while maintaining projects in various stages of production.
- Ability to work well in a high paced atmosphere.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with one or more of the following: lattice cross-section generation codes such as CASMO or experience with core Neutronic simulator codes such as PRISM, NEMO, SCIENCE, SIMULATE, or equivalent.
- Engineering degrees in related fields (e.g. mechanical) will be considered if there is relevant reactor physics work experience.

The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
- Experience with Monte Carlo radiation transport codes such as MCNP, KENO or equivalent.
- Experience with cross section processing code systems such as CASMO, APOLLO, NJOY, SCALE, or equivalent.
- Experience with Word; Excel; computer programming, knowledge of FORTRAN, PYTHON, and LINUX.
- Utility fuel engineering experience.
- Reactor startup and/or physics testing.
- Data reduction and analysis.
